I'm a frontend platform engineer, working at the scale where the platform itself is the product: shared foundations, build and release tooling, and the request path all the way out to the CDN edge. Today I'm the functional platform lead on Essent's Team Atlas, which owns that foundation across a ~400-project Nx monorepo serving six brand apps. I work through Codecask, the consultancy I co-own, under my own company CodeBakkers.
Angular and Nx are where I've gone deepest, but the work isn't framework-shaped: it's dependency graphs, build pipelines, module boundaries, rendering strategy and caching. I do both the framework-level refactors and the AWS/edge plumbing, and I build my own tooling to do it. My work is migration- and modernization-weighted: I move large platforms forward without stopping the teams that depend on them.
Before any of the engineering: I follow Jesus. It shapes how I try to live, work, and treat the people around me — and it's the part of my life I'd most want you to know about. More about that here.
